Holly Journals August 2017

So this is going to be my final Holly Journals box for a little while. I need to use up all the journals I got from them before I can go back to re-activating my subscription. The theme of the box is Day at the Beach.

So I'm going to start with the bonus gifts in the box. The first is assorted Salt Water Taffies (as seen above), and the second is a beach bracelet.

The box also included an embellishment pack that had paper clips and name tags, journal jewelry and a Le Pen in blue.

Finally, we get to the real jewel of the box, which is the journal. As usual it has a beautiful cover and an assortment of pages in different textures and types. These journals can be used as diaries, or art journals. I tend to use them as art journals.

Holly Journals July 2017

On July 9th I paused my subscription to Holly Journals, not because I hate the journals I get but because I have so many of them right now that I need to fill them up before I can get some more. So as soon as my journals are filled I'll be BACK!!!! I'm not sure if this is the last box for a while or if there is one more coming...we'll see. ONWARDS!

As you can see, the Holly Journals box survived molestation on the outside, but I could tell that it was opened because the wrapping paper was not exactly right. The stuff on the inside is not touched. The theme of July's box is Sparkling Pink Lemonade.

So the box had two bonus gifts, a Pink Lemonade Candy Stick and a Tickled Pink Mimosa Body Butter which you can kind of see in this picture...I forgot to take a singular picture of these two items...😑 The body butter comes from Piccadilly Bath and Body from South Greenfield, MO.  They may be contacted on their website, or at piccadillyboathandbody@yahoo.com.

I love the pens included in this box this month. The first is a pretty pink ball point pen which writes in blue. Usually these boxes always have black ink in their pens for some reason. And the second pen is a Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic in yellow.

There was an envelope that had an assortment of embellishments: name tickets and paper clips.

I love the beautiful journal jewelry that is in almost every box and this one is no exception. I think the cut lemon and the full lemon charms are really cute.

The reason for the box: the journal. It is a pretty thing with the usual assortment of pages that give me ideas for pieces of mixed media art. One of these days there will be a post showing the pages that I've made using these journals.

I'm going to be sad not getting to see all the new amazing journals that Holly Journals will put out but I really need to show the journals I have some love first.

Holly Journal June 2017 Box

I always look forward to the Holly Journal box because I know I'm going to get something interesting in the form of the journal, but this month's box, I think, went that extra mile. So let's get into the box.

The first thing to come out the box was the list of items in the box and a list of quotes that was included in the journal. The reason the quotes were included was that they were written in artistic font and might not be easy to read.

This is one of the bonus items in the box. It is a beautiful tote bag and I forsee myself carrying it around to put all my supplies in.

While the theme of the box is "Picnic Perfect" I would say based on the items here it is more like ladybugs ☺ I love the ladybug stickers and one of them is actually a magnet. The three pens are also cute though I have to say I've gotten that white pen in three other boxes so far. 😆

Finally, the journal, and as usual I love all the different "pages" included between its covers. I love using the journals as art/junk journals and the pages make that so easy! Another awesome box from Holly Journals.

Holly Journals May Box 2017

I think that Holly Journals is fast becoming my favourite of all my subscriptions so far. The content is always fun and original and always usable. This box is no exception.
The first thing you see when you open the box is the set of prompts for May, a note from the curator of the box and the information card.

The next thing I saw was an envelope full of goodies. There were stamps, some stickers for travelling and a paper clip shaped as a plane.

A beautiful necklace was wrapped in some bubble wrap as well as a charm to put on the journal which had a camera and a passport on it. They were both super cute.

Next came the two pens. The first is a Sakura Gel Pen (colour white) and the second is a ball point pen. They will get a lot of use from me.

**I'm kind of glad I read the information paper otherwise I would have missed it, a mini pencil.

No box is complete without some candy and this month it was peppermint.

Finally, the reason for the box. It is a work of art as usual. I'm always surprised and excited by the bits and bobs included as scrap pieces in the journal.

I LOVE THIS JOURNAL.

Holly Journals April 2017 Box

I was really looking forward to the Holly Journals box to arrive. I wanted to see what sort of journal the curator was going to include this time. So when it arrived, I was very excited. As usual, Kuwait customs had to take a look inside but they only got as far as opening the box this time.

Well, I opened it the rest of the way and the first thing I saw was the information packet. The packet includes a page for April prompts, a page that explains what is in the box and a page that explains how the box came together, plus a little something extra.

If you are interested in finding out in advance what is in the box here is a closer look at the information page. The theme of the box is Spring Ride.

As you can see at the bottom of the page, that little bit of extra I talked about was a packet of daisy seeds and a garden marker. I'm not much of a gardener but I do know someone who is and she will love to have this packet of seeds, so they already have a home. As to the garden marker? I'm going to use that as a bookmark 😊.

Now let us get to the good stuff. The reason for the box and the centrepiece, which is the journal. It was wrapped on its own in a really pretty tissue paper, which of course, I am saving.

Drum roll, please...

Look at this pretty! Also, check out the video below for a look inside.

What I forgot to show at the end of that video is the pretty pocket on the back cover of the journal. It also included a bookmark.

I think I'm in love with this journal. 😍

Okay, now it is time to fawn over the pens in this box. The box included three pens. One pen I am familiar with, the Sakura GellyRoll Star. The colour of the ink is grey with glitter in it. It writes like a dream, very smooth. The second pen is a Purple-happy day pen (the pink one with polka-dots), and as the name suggests it has purple ink. It has a really thin head, sort of like a Micron Pigma pen. Finally, the third pen is a Mr.Rabbit pen...never heard of it, but it has cute bunny ears. It's filled with black ink.

Finally, we have two more items in the box. The first is the journal bling, which is really cute and very indicative of spring, and the second item is an envelope full of paperclips and stickers.

Another amazing journal from Holly Journals and a good selection of pens and embellishments.
